With summer fast approaching, it’s safe to say that almost all of us are excited to go to the beach to enjoy the heat of the sun. But before getting in your bikini (or in a rashie in my case), you may want to schedule (and actually follow through with) regular sweat sessions so you can be in your best bikini body this bikini season.
If you’re wondering how to get your body to be at its best shape this summer (and even after that), NNMB’s happy to help! Here are seven must-try activities which will surely get you sweating.
Long distance running
As someone who runs long distances regularly (6.21 miles for three to four times a week), I’d say long distance running is one of the best (and cheap) ways to sweat it up like a boss (and maybe shed some pounds in the process). All you need is a reliable pair of running shoes and dri-fit clothes and you’re ready to hit the road. If you’re uncomfortable with running outdoors, you can do it on the treadmill. Either way, you’ll surely sweat a lot.
One of the sports which will require you to move non-stop (so you sweat like a beast) is football. No wonder those who play this sport have toned bodies. I’ve tried it twice before and all I can say after those two games is it’s not for the faint of heart! Play this sport with family or friends during the weekends and see how it can transform your body!
Once a week, I try to ride a bicycle to stroll along the road where I used to do my early morning run. It’s a great way to get the blood pumping and the sweat dropping.
This may be more challenging than the previously mentioned activities since you’ll need to go to a swimming pool first. Despite that, the effort is always worth it because of the numerous benefits your body will enjoy when you swim regularly (it’s both strength and cardio training). Plus, if you’re into long distance running like me, it will improve your ability to take in oxygen and strengthen your lungs, making you an even better runner.
If you think you don’t sweat while doing yoga, think again. The poses you’ll do, which prepare you for meditation, will help you sweat. Bonus: you get to enjoy some emotional and spiritual benefits, too!Summer has always been my favorite season. I feel happier. Zooey Deschanel #quoteClick To Tweet
Boxing isn’t only for men or professionals like Manny Pacquiao. You’ll be surprised how many beginners and women enjoy this fat-burning activity, too. Not only does it tone yuor muscles, it also proves to be a great way to relieve stress.
This is another sport that will get you moving from one place to another. Find a buddy who’d love to play the sport and squeeze it in your busy schedule twice or thrice a week.
Preparing for bikini season isn’t all about sweat sessions. It also requires making healthy food choices. Your efforts to sweat during exercise will only go to waste if you pick up unhealthy food right after you’ve worked hard to burn those calories. So be mindful of what you eat and never, ever treat your stomach like a garbage bin.
Before you put anything in your mouth, consider whether it’s going to do any good in your body. If it will, then go for it. If it not, then find a healthier alternative. It’s not going to be easy but when you don’t give up despite failing on some days, you’ll see the difference it can make. Not only will it give you that bikini body you’re aspiring for; it will also help you achieve a strong body that you can rely on to fulfill your duties as a mother.
