It feels like I’ve been on a diet forever. Lord knows I’ve used that word thousands of times and elected many a Mondays to start “eating healthier and exercising more”. If Dr. Phil were to ask me how it’s workin’ for me, I’d have to say it’s not.
I decided to change the way I look at this. Instead of saying I’m on a diet, I simply say I’m eating better or making better food choices. Changing the way I looked eating healthy helped me stick to it longer than when I said I was dieting.
I think that word “diet” was the culprit all along because it felt like I was being punished for loving food.
As a picky eater I can’t just pick up a food that I’ve never tried before. And if it has a smell to it, like canned green beans, forget it, I’m not trying it.
Usually that’s when I say, forget it, I’ll just eat less of what I cook but this time, I wanted to search for foods we eat daily that will help me eat better and lose weight without feeling like I’m working on it. You know what I mean?

Other Foods That Increase Metabolism and Boost Weight Loss
Here is a list of other foods that increases metabolism and boosts weight loss:
Yogurt – full of probiotics to help regulate the digestive system.
Beans – high in fiber, loads of protein and low-fat.
Hot peppers – the capsaicin in hot peppers help speed up metabolism.
Fish – tuna and salmon is high in omega-3 which lowers the hormone leptin. Lower leptin levels have been linked to higher caloric burn.
Poultry – has a metabolism-boosting protein. Skinless chicken is a better option.
Whole grains – foods like oatmeal and brown rice are full of nutrients and complex carbs that speed up metabolism.
When you pair healthy eating with some form of exercise, even if it’s just 15 minutes a day, and done consistently, you will eventually see the number on the scale start to go down!
