My daughter went back to school to become a dental assistant, so grandma or mana as I am better known as – is now babysitter.
Mornings are my favorite part of the day. I love watching the boys wake up. While Isaiah, the four year old takes his time to get out of bed, Noah, the two year old is off and running as soon as he sits up, hehe.
Summertime in Texas is no joke – especially in the afternoon. As my Tio would say “mucho caliente, poco frio.”
The boys love to play outside so to improvise, I serve breakfast on the back patio so the grandsons can enjoy some time outdoors before the sun starts to heat up. This is the way we start our day before the boys work on preschool activities.
Honey Nut Cheerios – A Toddler’s Choice
The number one request from the grandkids is cereal or “ro-ro” as Noah calls it. Which is fine by me – who wants to have the stove running when it’s so darn hot, right? Anyway, they have several kinds of cereal to choose from but they always go for the Honey Nut Cheerios.
With ingredients like whole grain oats, real honey and gluten free, it’s a healthy, sweet way to start the morning. Heck, I even have a bowl as a late-night snack! By the way, Honey Nut Cheerios, Multi-grain Cheerios and Regular Cheerios are now all gluten free!
But let me tell you what really has me excited about Honey Nut Cheerios – it’s because of the prize inside! My 21-year old son teases me and says I’m more excited about the prizes than my grandson – and I’m starting to believe he’s right.
General Mills always has cool surprises in their cereals but this time – they really did it! Inside specially-marked General Mills cereal there will be a character of The Secret Life of Pets. The kids can hook it on to their backpack. There are 6 collectibles in all.
If you haven’t seen the trailer to The Secret Life of Pets – you’re missing out. The entire family is looking forward to watching it – I think the adults more than the kids, hehe. The movie is about the adventures of pets on a mission to break out a couple furry friends from animal control.
Since I’m a furmom, sometimes I wonder what my furbabies do when we leave the house. And with stars like Eric Stonestreet and Kevin Hart I know this is going to be a great flick.
As soon as I saw Leonard jam out to System of a Down, I knew I had to watch this movie! And Isaiah has been counting down the days ‘til its premier today. I can’t wait to go see it and some fun, quality family time with kids and grandkids of all ages. I just wish I could sneak in a container of Honey Nut Cheerios to munch on while I watch the movie, lol!
Here’s the official trailer.
Moms and grandmas, if the morning rush leaves little time for bacon and eggs, the kids can still have a complete breakfast with Honey Nut Cheerios.
