I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with stay-at-home moms who still want to work to help out with bills and other household expenses. But the idea of a work-from-home job won’t fit in their already busy schedule with school and other activities involving the kids.
But that hasn’t stopped moms who want to make their mark in the world of momprenuership.
Moms are taking matters into their own hands to make money. They’re hanging up the apron so to speak and going for their dream by starting a home-based business and I say more power to ’em! And what’s even better is, it’s been a success – so much so that more moms and dads have quit their day job in exchange for becoming their own boss.
In fact, in a study conducted in 2012 by the U.S. Small Business Association, 52% of small businesses are managed from home and I think it’s safe to say that number is steady growing. How awesome and exciting is that!

- Can I set my own hours
- Can I work on a project by project basis
The goal is to start a business that fits into your lifestyle and schedule. For example, running a consultation business may require you to be on the phone talking with clients. That can be hard to do with little ones running around. You know what I mean?

There are several ways you can sell products. You can become an affiliate and set up a website as a functioning store, a drop ship business or sell your own products on sites like Etsy.
There is always a kiddie birthday party, bridal shower, baby shower or other special event that calls for cake. For moms who have a knack for baking cakes, cupcakes or cookies setting up shop at home is easy. Do a quick search on Facebook for all the
And when word gets around about your cakes, it will take no time for referrals to come in. Check out this page Cakes and Cookies by Nunez Creations. This is a mother-daughter team who bakes cakes and cookies for special occasions.
