Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful holiday. I’ve been offline since mid-December. I baked Christmas cookies with the grandkids, shopped up until three days before Christmas, wrapped gifts on Christmas Eve and I ate like there was no tomorrow!
As with all vacations or time off, the time went by too quick for me. Usually I’m bummed about it but this time it’s a good thing because I am ready to get back to work and start the New Year off with a bang!
This past year, my blog was pretty much put on the backburner with my mom being ill and going in and out of the hospital – blogging took a back seat in 2016. Before I continue, thank you all for your well wishes. Mom was in the hospital due to an infection over the Thanksgiving holiday but she was home just in time for Christmas.
And now I’m back, baby and I am ready to rock ‘n roll! And now we welcome the new year. Full of things that have never been. Rainer Maria Rilke #quoteClick To Tweet
So Let Me Tell You What’s On Not Now Mom’s Busy
While I was offline enjoying the downtime I did manage to squeeze in some time to do my planning for the New Year. I put some serious thought into the direction I wanted to take my blogging journey and how I can fit it in my busy schedule – if ever there was a challenge for me last year it was time so I needed to make a blogging plan to help me stay focused on my goals for this year and manage my time better. Does that make sense?
Work-from-Home Job Lead Round-Up
Last year, I was posting work-from-home and blogger jobs every Friday. Now the work-from-home job lead round-up will be posted every Saturday and the blogger jobs will be featured on the weekly Blogging News newsletter.
The reason for the change is to make room on my calendar for fresh content. And speaking of fresh content…
Fresh, New Content
I’ll be posting fresh, new content about working from home, blogging and every now and then a guest or sponsored post three times a week. Monday’s post will be about working from home, Wednesdays is all about blogging and Friday may be one or the other or something for Mom’s Corner.
I was actually thinking about doing away with mom-related topics but I decided to continue blogging about other categories like lifestyle, parenting, grandparenthood, and recipes, for now. I created a new category called Mom’s Corner to post lifestyle-related articles. After all, the blog is called Not Now Mom’s Busy.We can change our lives. We can do, have and be exactly what we wish. Promotional Content and Product Reviews
I also make a living as a blogger, which is why you’ll see a sponsored post or a product review from time to time.I’ll be blogging about my favorite products that I’m using or have tried. If there is a product or service that is working for me (or not), I will definitely tell you about it. And even though I may be paid for my opinions, please know that I will only promote products I feel will be relevant to you, dear reader.
And there’s more…
As a blogger, we have a story to tell and when that story is filled with challenges, setbacks and perseverance, it makes for a relatable tale for anyone who wants to start blogging but for whatever reason, hesitate to take the leap.
And there are other work-at-home moms who have been down the same road as we have and are now successful bloggers.
I’ll be inviting special guests to share their story, how they began their blogging journey and the secret to their success. My first special guest will be featured January 16th and I can’t wait!
Services for Hire
You may have noticed the “hire me” page on the navigation bar at the top. Well, starting this year, I’m now offering coaching sessions to help new bloggers or help someone who wants to find a work-from-home job or start a home-based business.
WordPress web design has been sort of a hidden passion but I’m ready to share my passion of web design to help clients bring their vision of a website come to life.

For more details about these services, check out the hire me page at the top.
I also did some rebranding during my break. It’s still a work in progress but for now, here is my new logo. I still want to add a laptop or monitor in the center but since the image itself is kind of slanted the image of the computer is off and well, my OCD goes off the charts, hehe.
So for now, I’m using this image as a logo but be on the lookout for an updated version coming soon.
Not Now Mom’s Busy Product
I am really excited about this. I had thought about creating a product with ‘not now mom’s busy’ on it but never acted on it, that is until I had a good chat session with my two musketeers, Bren and Dana.
We started talking about our plans for the New Year and what we wanted to do with our blog and business. Dana shared her idea and when I mentioned I thought about making a customized coffee mug she not only encouraged me but she helped me come up with the slogan!
As of the time I’m putting this post together, I ordered a prototype for a Not Now Mom’s Busy Coffee Mug. It came in over the holidays and I love it! I’ll be opening up an Etsy shop for the mug and other Not Now Mom’s Busy products. Be on the lookout for a “shop Not Now Mom’s Busy” page here on the blog coming soon.
So that’s what’s new in 2017. I am so excited to get this year started ande for what’s to come. I sure hope you will be coming along for the ride!
Here’s to an awesome New Year!
