There is about to be an addition to our family! No, it’s not me – my baby makin’ days are over with a capital O!
No mamas, I’m on to the next chapter in my life – grandma!
You would think with all my excitement that it’s my first grandbaby. It’s actually my fourth but it will be my last for a while.
My other kids have already told me not to expect a grandbaby from them any time soon so I’m soaking this one up for sure!
The hubs thinks I’m crazy for wanting a house full of grandkids but I have an aunt who has 12 grandkids and she’s always posting pics of sleepovers or special lunch dates and well – that’s my dream!
The hubs and I were planning a baby shower for our daughter and go all out with customized invitations. I mean the whole nine yards.
Unfortunately my daughter started feeling sick and has been having contractions. She called her doctor and he told her to get more bed rest.
So we decided to have a welcome baby shower after he is born. Now that I have more time, I can make the invitation with a pic of the baby.
I’m so excited – I can’t wait!
Aren’t those cute! I was playing around with the design template on Basic Invite and they have all kinds of colors to choose from.
And they also have different colors of envelopes to pick from to make the invitation really stand out when it arrives in the mail.
Speaking of mail – and this is a cool feature, I can send a link to my fam and friends to get their address and Basic Invite will print it on the envelope for me.
All I have to do is put a stamp on it and bam – it’s off to the post office to let the fam know when he has made his debut and attach details about the welcome shower.
I know I can easily post an invite on Facebook but to me, that’s impersonal.
I think getting an invitation in the mail is more personal. It means someone took the extra time to put the invite together and drive to the post office to mail it off. You know what I mean?
And mamas, they also have feminine thank you cards and business card templates for your business. You can even order a custom sample so you can see exactly what they’ll look like before you place a final order.
Over to You
So that’s what I’ve been up to lately. I’m in full grandma mode right now – helping my daughter get ready for the baby to arrive and keeping the grandsons entertained so she can get as much rest as possible.
The baby isn’t due ‘til September and we want to make sure he’s fully cooked before he comes!
Stop by Basic Invite and take a look at their stationary. They have stuff for grads, birthdays, baptisms, and even printables!
