If you’re a new blogger, the primary goal is to get your blog as much exposure as possible and connect with visitors and fellow bloggers in your niche.
One great way to get your blog out in the blog-o-sphere is by joining Facebook groups or Google Communities. The purpose of these groups is to offer you support not only for your blog but for your social media pages as well.
Every group is set up and managed differently but the premise is the same. Facebook groups or Google communities create threads in which you can share a link of a post that was published on social media networks like Facebook, Twitter and Google.
Here’s what a thread on a Facebook group would look like:
To participate in the threads you’ll need to know how to get the URL or link of the post that was published on your social media pages. Plus, you’ll need to know this if you write a sponsored post to submit those links to an Influencer Network.
Here’s a quick tutorial to show you how to get the link of a social media post on these popular platforms.
Select the post you want to share on your group’s thread and click the timestamp. The timestamp is the date/time your post was originally published.
A new window with your post will appear. The URL at the top of the page is the link you’ll use to copy and paste that particular post to your group’s or community’s thread.
On Twitter, go to the Tweets tab and select the tweet you want to post on your group’s thread.
Click the timestamp when the tweet was originally sent.
When the new window appears, that will be the link you’ll copy and paste to your group’s or community’s thread.
There are a several ways to grab the link of a pin but you have to make sure your blog is set up so that you can pin directly from it. Here are the different ways you can set it up and how to get the social link for your pin.
The first one is by adding an extension from your web browser. Since I’m a Chrome user, I’ll use that one as an example.
In Chrome, click on the three bars located at the top right of the window. A drop down box will appear. Select “more tools” and then click on “extensions”.
When the extensions window appears scroll to the bottom and click on “get more extensions”.
A new window will open and display the Chrome web store. In the search box located at the top left, type in “pin it button” and select “extensions” to filter your search.

Get the Link
If you haven’t pinned your post to Pinterest, this is what you’ll do to get the link of the Pin. Click on the “pin it” tab that was inserted on the toolbar. A selection of images will appear. Select and click the featured image of your post.
A new window will appear with the image and a list of your boards. Select the board you want to pin the post to then click the red “pin it” button as shown below.
Click the “see it now” message that appears. The pin will appear in a new window. The URL in the window is the link you will copy and paste to your group’s or community’s thread.

After you’ve done that, you’re ready to pin
Get the Link
If you haven’t pinned the post on Pinterest, hover over the featured image of your post and the “pin it” button will appear.
When you click on that button, a window will open with the featured image and a list of your boards. Select the board your pin will go to then click the red “pin it” button. Click the “see it now” message that appears.
Your pin will appear in a new window. The URL in that window is the link you will copy and paste to your group’s or community’s thread.
You can also get a Pin’s link directly from your Pinterest dashboard if you’ve already pinned a post. Select the board where the pin you want to share is posted and click on it.
Get the Link
Click on the pin you want to share. Your pin will open in another window. The URL to that pin will be the link you copy and paste to your group’s or community’s thread.
Tip: Remember to edit the description of the pin to make sure it has the appropriate hashtags and keywords if it doesn’t have it already.
From your Google profile, select the post you want to share and click the timestamp of when it was originally published.
A new window will open with the post you published. The URL at the top of the page is the link you will copy and paste to your group’s or community’s thread.
If you don’t have a setup to share your posts on Instagram here are a couple suggestions.
But if you don’t use social sharing tools like that, you can use Dropbox. Simply store your post’s images there and use the Dropbox app. On Android, you’ll have to export an image to Instagram in order to post it.
Get the Link
To get the link of an Instagram post, log on to your Instagram account. From your dashboard, click on the image you want to share.
When you click on the image, it will open to show the description of the image, the numbers of likes and any comments. The URL of that window will be the link you copy and paste to your group’s or community’s thread.
