Everyone knows I love working from home. And while there are plenty of reasons and benefits for doing so, there is also a downside…like how easy it is to get up from my desk and to go the kitchen for a snack whenever I’m in the mood for something sweet or salty.
If you’re the kind of person like me who enjoys snacking…okay, I love snacking…we both know there won’t be a happy ending if we indulge in the wrong kind of food. Today, I’m going to tell you how to snack without the guilt while working from home.
You’re not going to believe how simple it is! Just change the type of foods you eat. Here’s what I mean.
Since I made a commitment to eat healthier, I’ve been looking for healthier snacks to get me through the day and fit into my wellness routine.
If this is you, too, replace your unhealthy snacks for Weight Watchers® snacks. I know what you’re probably thinking…since it’s a healthy option you’re thinking it won’t taste the same as the real deal.
I know where you’re coming from…I had the same concern but their snacks really do taste good…there is no sacrificing taste.
While I was perusing the aisles at HEB, I picked up Weight Watchers® Red Velvet Crème Cakes and…you’re going to love this, Weight Watchers® Triple Chocolate Brownie Bliss! Each is only 2 points so if you’re counting points, you’ll still be below your daily point limit.
I also noticed Jolly Time Healthy Pop is Weight Watchers®-approved. Come on ladies, you know those late night snacks can be tough. One bag of popcorn is only three points so now we can feel free to snack away!
Ice cream lovers can indulge in Weight Watchers® English Toffee Crunch ice cream bars…those are my favorite!
A Light Lunch
For lunch, keep it light. I know how tempting it is to go to a drive thru. Instead, you can make a cheesy beef tostada (also known as chalupas).
I make this at least once a week. This time I switched the cheese I normally use with Weight Watchers® Reduced Fat Mexican Style Blend. It’s a combination of reduced fat cheddar, monterey jack, asadero and queso quesadilla cheeses.
Here’s the recipe for cheesy beef tostada.
You will need:
1 bag of Weight Watchers® Reduced Fat Mexican Style Blend cheese
1lb. ground chuck (sautéed)
1 can of pinto beans
1 medium tomato, chopped
1 cup chopped lettuce
Sour cream (optional)
How to Make It:
Prepare ground chuck and season with taco seasoning. Drain fat then set aside.
For restaurant-style pinto beans, in a pan add a little cooking oil. Pour can of pinto beans and add a little salt and garlic powder. Bring the pinto beans to a boil then mash with a potato masher. Remove from heat and let stand for about five minutes.
Take a tostada shell and spread on refried beans. Add ground chuck and top with lettuce, tomato, and Weight Watchers® Reduced Fat Mexican Style Blend and at only a 3-Smart Points value, you can sprinkle a little extra if you’d like.
You can finish it off with a dollop of sour cream and avocado slices.
Here’s to snacking without the guilt!
